The find command can be used to find files with a specific permission using the "perm" option. So its easy to mention that in the name criteria and list all hidden files. Hidden files on linux begin with a period. dir2 -type f -name "abc*"Ĭheck, that it listed files from 2 separate directories. Again, the command is very simple $ find. ![]() So lets say you want to search inside 2 separate directories. Sometimes we want to find only files or only directories with a given name. The above command search for files ending in either the php extension or the txt extension. However if we need to perform an OR based matching then the find command has the "o" switch. When using multiple name criterias, the find command would combine them with AND operator, which means that only those files which satisfy all criterias will be matched. This is an example of how powerful search expressions can be build with the find command. The above find command looks for files that begin with abc in their names and do not have a php extension. It is possible to use multiple criterias when specifying name and inverting. The find command also supports the exclamation mark inplace of not. So in the above example we found all files that do not have the extension of php, either non-php files. This is helpful when we know which files to exclude from the search. It is also possible to search for files that do no match a given name or pattern. ![]() Just like maxdepth there is an option called mindepth which does what the name suggests, that is, it will go atleast N level deep before searching for the files. This is very useful when we want to do a limited search only in the current directory or max 1 level deep sub directories and not the entire directory tree which would take more time. The second example uses maxdepth of 1, which means it will not go lower than 1 level deep, either only in the current directory. For example we don't want to go more than 2 or 3 levels down in the sub directories. However the depth of directory travesal can be specified. The find command by default travels down the entire directory tree recursively, which is time and resource consuming. Not doing so will seem to work sometimes and give strange results at other times. test/cool.php Its always better to wrap the search term (name parameter) in double or single quotes. To ignore the case, just use the "iname" option instead of the "name" option. It is often useful to ignore the case when searching for file names. However, if the directory is actually a symlink to some other location then you MUST specify the trailing slash for it to work properly (find. When specifying the directory ("./test" in this example), its fine to omit the trailing slash. Of course you can press Ctrl + c anytime to stop the command. Trying to search the "/" directory which is the root, would search the entire file system including mounted devices and network storage devices. So this is a very powerful way to find all files of a given extension. Note that all sub directories are searched recursively. The following command searches for files by their name. The following command will look for files in the test directory in the current directory. The command is same as the following $ find. This command lists out all the files in the current directory as well as the subdirectories in the current directory. You have two decks to draw from: the convoy deck, which is made up of your followers, and the leader deck, which is made of unique cards owned by your character (you start off playing as The Firebrand, but you unlock other characters with unique decks as you go, like The Echo and The Banshee). In addition to this risk/reward mechanic, the battles themselves provide huge scope for varied tactics and intense decisions. But which ones do you take into battle? The common cards that you don’t mind losing so much? Or the rare, legendary or even mythic ones that could potentially turn the battle quickly in your favour, but would also be devastating to lose? It’s a smart system that constantly keeps you balancing risk with reward – especially as the chances to heal followers are few and far between, not to mention expensive, so you’ll often find yourself with at least one or two wounded followers in your deck. BUT, if a wounded follower is defeated, then they’re dead – and gone for good. So if a card that normally costs four energy points is wounded and now costs only three energy points, you could potentially play that card straight off and have an advantage over the enemy’s three-point cards with lower attack. You start the first round of a fight with three points of energy, and every round this is increased by one to a maximum of ten. That means both the card’s health and the cost to play it are reduced by one, with the latter providing a distinct advantage in battle, since it gives you access to potentially more powerful cards at a reduced price. It makes deck-building just that little bit more personal when the cards have names attached – and all the more devastating when one of your cards/followers dies.Īnd that’s another clever thing – if you play a card and it’s defeated in battle, that card gains a wound. Only these cards actually have individual, procedurally generated names, and they’ll come to you with requests on your journey, as well as providing help in some of the scenarios you stumble across. And as with any deck-building game, your task is to craft these cards into a deck that balances attack and defence, card costs and complementary abilities to defeat the many foes you run into. Binomial logistic regression is a special case of ordinal logistic regression, corresponding to the case where J=2. The principle of ordinal logistic regression is to explain or predict a variable that can take J ordered alternative values (only the order matters, not the differences), as a function of a linear combination of the explanatory variables. XLSTAT uses the Newton-Raphson algorithm to iteratively find a solution. The model proposed by XLSTAT to relate the probability of occurrence of an event to the explanatory variables is the logit model which is one of the four models proposed for the binomial case.Ĭontrary to linear regression, an exact analytical solution does not exist. For ease of writing, the equations below are written considering the first category as the reference category. The estimated coefficients will be interpreted according to this control category. Ideally, we will choose what corresponds to the "basic" or "classic" or "normal" situation. Within the framework of the multinomial model, a control category must be selected. The binomial case seen previously is therefore a special case where J=2. The principle of multinomial logistic regression is to explain or predict a variable that can take J alternative values (the J categories of the variable), as a function of explanatory variables. ![]() Being iterative, however, it can slow down the calculations. This method is more reliable as it does not require the assumption that the parameters are normally distributed. XLSTAT also offers the alternative " Likelihood ratio" method (Venzon and Moolgavkar, 1988). In most software, the calculation of confidence intervals for the model parameters is as for linear regression assuming that the parameters are normally distributed. Both these functions are perfectly symmetric and sigmoid: XLSTAT provides two other functions: the complementary Log-log function which is closer to the upper asymptote, and the Gompertz function which, on the contrary, is closer the axis of abscissa. The most common functions used to link probability p to the explanatory variables are the logistic function (we refer to the Logit model) and the standard normal distribution function (the Probit model). ![]() The probability parameter p is here a function of a linear combination of explanatory variables. For logistic regression, the dependent variable, also called the response variable, follows a Bernoulli distribution of parameter p (p is the mean probability that an event will occur) when the experiment is repeated once, or a Binomial(n,p) distribution if the experiment is repeated nn times (for example the same dose given to nn patients). Logistic and linear regression belong to the same family of models called GLM ( Generalized Linear Model): in both cases, an event is linked to a linear combination of explanatory variables.įor linear regression, the dependent variable follows a normal distribution N(μ,σ) where μ is a linear function of the explanatory variables. Models for logistic regression Binomial logistic regression For example, in the medical field, we seek to assess from what dose of a drug, a patient will be cured. The principle of the logistic regression model is to explain the occurrence or not of an event (the dependent variable noted Y) by the level of explanatory variables (noted X). It is widely used in the medical field, in sociology, in epidemiology, in quantitative marketing (purchase or not of products or services following an action) and in finance for risk modeling (scoring). Logistic regression is a frequently used method because it allows to model binomial (typically binary) variables, multinomial variables (qualitative variables with more than two categories) or ordinal (qualitative variables whose categories can be ordered). On that occasion, Jesus brought them down to earth by asking them if they were willing to drink the cup he must drink, the cup of suffering. It is at such times that we can call upon the same resource that Jesus called upon, just before he set out on his journey to Jerusalem. At one level we do not want to make the journey, but at a deeper level we know we have to take it if we are to be true to our deepest calling. There are times in all our lives when we have to steel ourselves for some journey. The rejection he immediately receives from a Samaritan village is a foretaste of the bloodier rejection he will encounter in Jerusalem. Jesus knows that at the end of this journey, he will fall into the hands of sinful men. He has to steel himself for this journey, because, as he will say later in this gospel of Luke, Jerusalem is a city that has a reputation for killing prophets. Jesus has to resolutely take the road to Jerusalem. However, this will not be a joyful journey towards an encounter with God. In the gospel reading, Jesus sets out for the city of Jerusalem. As followers of the Lord, we believe that we are all on a pilgrimage, a life-long pilgrimage, towards the heavenly Jerusalem where we will see the Lord face to face. But in Trek canon, you can turn any warp-capable ship into a time machine, if you figure out how to slingshot around a star just right. So, when the crew took this ship back in time, to 1986 in The Voyage Home, it felt right. Many a meme will remind fans that this Klingon ship was originally captained by Commander Kruge, played by Christopher Lloyd one year before he played Doc Brown in Back to the Future. That name came from Bones, who decided to give the ship a name that referenced Mutiny on the Bounty, the 1932 novel by Charles Nordhoff and James Norman Hall, based on a true story of a real nautical mutiny in 1789. The Klingons didn’t name this ship “the Bounty,” of course.
